We use drugs and equipment that have a history of the utmost safety. In-depth monitoring with both electronic equipment as well as your pet’s personal certified technician anesthetist. Don’t hesitate to ask us any questions to resolve any concerns you may have.
Laboratory
We recommend early detection through wellness screens, pre-anesthetic lab evaluation, as well as diagnostics in medical cases. Our state of the art in-house lab can give us results in as little as 30 minutes. Our highly trained technical staff is adept at evaluating urinalyses as well as cytology of the skin and ear.
Cardiology
As our patients age, it is not uncommon to develop heart disease. We are fully equipped to evaluate the extent of our patient’s heart condition, with auscultation, lab evaluation, chest radiograph’s and ECG. There are also a number of breeds that are predisposed to heart conditions and we provide screening for early detection as well as medical management of heart disease.
Dentistry
One of the most important health aspects to maintaining your pet’s comfort and longevity is paying close attention to their dental care. Here at Waukesha Animal Hospital we will perform an Oral Health Check at every physical examination. When your pet is developing tartar build-up and gingivitis- the reversible stage of gum infection, we will provide a full service dental cleaning including full mouth x-rays to evaluate the tooth roots and bony structures. This will restore your pet’s oral health and prevent pain or tooth loss.
Dermatology(Skin)
We can often diagnose a skin problem by simply examining your pet. Some dermatologic diseases or conditions do require additional diagnostic procedures to ensure a correct diagnosis. Depending on your pet’s symptoms and the results of our physical exam, we may run blood work or perform a urinalysis, skin scraping, or biopsies.
Pharmacy
We have a full service pharmacy for our client’s use. It is important to us to be convenient for our clients; you can pick up your prescription at your appointment time and also call ahead for any refills. We are competitive- we try to meet or beat the big internet site prices on most items. And if you buy through us you are supporting a local business rather than an industry giant. The income from our pharmacy does help us keep our other prices as low as possible. We appreciate your support.
Surgery
Your pet will have a tail to nose examination the morning of any procedure. Basic lab screening of liver and kidney function as well as red blood cell count, will be recommended for all patients. Older patients or those with disease conditions will need more extensive diagnostics to ensure anesthesia is as safe as possible. Your pet’s vitals will be monitored continuously by our advanced multi-parameter patient monitor. This includes ECG, respiration, blood pressure, and blood oxygen saturation. Your pet will also have its own personal certified veterinary technician monitoring their welfare from induction through post-op recovery. Our doctors are skilled and experienced with soft tissue and routine surgeries
Diagnostic Imaging
As an aid in evaluation of medical and dental cases, we utilize advanced equipment that will detect problems that are not evident on physical examination alone. These windows into the body help speed our diagnosis and put your pet on the road to recovery.
