WHAT VACCINATIONS DOES A DOG NEED? AT WHAT AGE?

Da2PPV– stands for Distemper-Adenovirus- Parainfluenza- Parvovirus

Puppies: Start at 6-8 weeks of age, and receive a series of 2-4 boosters, every 3-4 weeks until 16 weeks old.

Adults: Give 2 vaccines 3-4 weeks apart, booster in one year, then after second annual vaccine, given every 3 years or as indicated by risk assessment.

LEPTOSPIROSIS

Puppies: Initial vaccine given at 12 weeks of age, 1 booster, 3-4 weeks apart.

Adults: Given at any age (after 12 weeks), 1 booster 3-4 weeks apart, annual revaccination.

RABIES

Given at 16 weeks of age or older, revaccinate 1 year later; then every 3 years.

LYME

Based on risk assessment, given at 9 weeks of age or older, booster 2-4 weeks apart, then revaccinate annually.

BORDETELLA

Based on risk assessment, given every 6-12 months.
