My dog is really well trained. Why does he need to be on a leash when we visit the clinic?

For the safety of all clients, patients and veterinary team members, we require all dogs to be on leash. We ask that you continue to keep them restrained while you are in the waiting area and traveling to or from the exam room. Our staff will let you know when it is OK to remove the leash in the exam room. There is a lot of commotion and unexpected occurrences in a veterinary hospital. Combine that with the unfamiliar surroundings and strange animals and any pet, no matter how well-trained, might become uneasy or over-excited resulting in unforeseen safety hazards. Please respect our leash policy to keep everyone safe.
